Using this Blue Sea 285 - Series circuit breaker is easy. First, mount it on the surface as it's a surface - mount type. Make sure to connect it properly with the right terminal stud (M6 that accepts 1/4' Ring Terminal) and tighten it to the recommended torque of 60 in - lb (6.78 Nm). It can handle up to 70A of amperage and a maximum voltage of 48V DC. When it comes to use, it combines the functions of a switch and a circuit breaker in one unit, but don't use it as a switch when there are high inrush currents. The visible reset lever will show you if it's in an open condition. As for maintenance, since it's weather - resistant, it can withstand different conditions, but it's still a good idea to check it regularly, especially if it has been exposed to extreme temperatures (it can operate from - 40° C to 85° C). If it trips, it's 'Trip Free', so you can't force it to stay closed. Just reset it according to the normal procedure and it should be ready to go again.
