Product Detail
ACR, a global leader in rescue and life - saving products trusted by professional and recreational mariners, proudly presents the new ResQLink AIS Personal Locator Beacon. This compact high - tech PLB is a game - changer, being the world's first to combine AIS (Automatic Identification System), NFC (Near Field Communication), and standard satellite notification via the Cospas Sarsat rescue system. AIS enables instant local alerts, speeding up rescue operations. NFC allows easy smartphone access to all functions and records, ensuring the beacon works properly when needed. With accurate GNSS (GPS, Galileo, Glonass) positioning and 406 MHz satellite connectivity, it offers reliable service worldwide. The 121.5 MHz homing transmissions, along with AIS and visible/infrared strobes, aid in quick beacon location. The Worldwide Cospas Sarsat satellite system ensures your 406 MHz distress signal reaches global search - and - rescue forces with 100 - meter accuracy. Multiple signaling technologies, including 406 MHz and GNSS, and the 121.5 MHz homing signal, help rescuers find the beacon even if it has drifted. AIS transmissions alert all AIS - equipped vessels nearby, increasing the chance and speed of rescue. The ResQLink AIS features both visible and infrared strobes to assist rescuers in low - visibility situations. NFC technology lets you access beacon data like battery life, test results, and activation time from your phone. The RLS functionality sends a confirmation through the Galileo network, indicated by a flashing blue light, reducing stress during man - overboard incidents. It can be semi - automatically installed in a life jacket and activated upon inflation. You can also attach it to a belt or life - jacket webbing using the included clips. Specifications: Satellite Tx: 406 MHz +/- 1 KHz (5W Typ.); AIS Tx: 161.975/162.025 MHz +/- 500 Hz (1W); Homing Tx: 121.5 MHz (25 - 100mW PEP); Size: 7.87' (H) x 1.41' (W) x 1.18' (D); Weight: 0.42 lbs (190 g); Battery: Lithium battery, Li/FeS2; Battery Replacement: 6 years from manufacture, 5 years after service or emergency use (whichever is first); GPS: Multi - constellation receiver (GPS, Galileo, & Glonass GNSS); Activation: Manual or via life - jacket inflation (Semi - Automatic); Buoyant: No (Flotation Pouch Available: P/N: 9649); Operational Life: Over 24 hours; Warranty: 5 years; Waterproof: 10m (1.0 bar) for 1 hour. What's in the box: PLB450 ResQLink and clips.
Using the ACR ResQLink PLB450 is easy. You can either attach it to a belt or life - jacket webbing using the included clips, or install it in a life jacket semi - automatically. If you choose the life - jacket option, use the oral inflation tube clip to attach it with a ribbon around the bladder. When the life jacket inflates, the antenna deploys and the beacon activates. You can also activate it manually. When in distress, the beacon will send out 406 MHz satellite signals, AIS transmissions, and 121.5 MHz homing signals to alert rescuers. The visible and infrared strobes will help rescuers find you in low - visibility situations. You can check the beacon's status, like battery life and test results, using your smartphone via NFC. Make sure to replace the battery every 6 years from the date of manufacture, or 5 years after it's put into service or after emergency use. Keep it dry as it's waterproof up to 10m for 1 hour, but don't submerge it for longer. If you need to float the beacon, use the available flotation pouch. Also, perform regular self - tests to ensure it's working properly.
