Product Detail
The Balmar DDC-12/24 Digital Duo Charge is an outstanding solution for charging two battery banks. Say goodbye to problematic isolators and manual battery switches! This charger monitors the house battery's voltage during charging. Once the voltage goes above the set minimum (13.2V in a 12V system and 26.4V in a 24V system), it automatically kicks in, delivering up to 30A of charge current to the starting battery. When there's no charge source, it separates the batteries, preventing accidental discharge of the starting battery into the house battery. An optional solenoid control allows for higher charging output for the start battery when needed. Key features include multi-bank charging, being a solid-state battery combiner, precise control of voltage and current between house and start batteries, eliminating the need for isolators or manual switches, working with Max Charge or ARS-5 regulators (or can be used without a Balmar regulator), suitability for both 12V and 24V applications, compatibility with different battery technologies for house and start batteries, start battery temperature sensing with the MC-TS-B sensor cable, and support for 4 battery programs for the start battery: Standard Flooded, Deep Cycle Flooded, AGM, and Gel Cell. Note: This product cannot be returned to the original place of purchase. Contact the manufacturer directly for any issues. Owner's Manual (pdf) available.
Using the Balmar DDC-12/24 Digital Duo Charge is easy. First, connect it to your house and starting batteries according to the instructions. During charging, it will automatically monitor the house battery's voltage. Once the voltage reaches the set minimum, it will start charging the starting battery. When there's no charge source, it will keep the batteries separate to avoid any unwanted discharge. If you need higher charging output for the start battery, you can use the optional solenoid control. Remember, this product can't be returned to where you bought it. If you face any problems, reach out to the manufacturer. For maintenance, keep it clean and check the connections regularly. Make sure to use the correct battery programs for the start battery, which include Standard Flooded, Deep Cycle Flooded, AGM, and Gel Cell. You can also use the MC-TS-B sensor cable for start battery temperature sensing.
