Zeus A8000-48V 8kW N62 Alternator with Clutch Pulley
The ARCO Zeus A8000-48V alternator is a game-changer. It starts working at lower RPMs, runs cooler, and packs more power than those big and heavy 48V alternators. At 2,500 RPM, it continuously generates over 3kW (55 Amps), and at 4,000 Alternator RPM, it almost hits 6kW (111 Amps). In real life, a marine diesel engine charging at 1,200 RPM with a 3.13:1 pulley ratio can generate just over 5kW (97 Amps), and a Mercedes Sprinter at 750 RPM with a 3.21:1 ratio can generate over 3kW (55 Amps)!
Many competitor alternators use 12V rotors for their 48V models, which is inefficient and limits output at all RPMs. In that case, your external smart regulator has to reduce the field a lot, up to 78%. If not done right, you could damage the unit and other system components. ARCO uses a native 48V rotor and field current, making our 48V alternator run cooler and last longer.

Using the ARCO Zeus A8000-48V 8kW N62 Alternator is easy. First, make sure it's properly mounted according to the mounting application details. For many Sprinter RVs, it can replace the factory dual alternator. Then, connect it to your system, following the electrical specifications. You can use the ARCO Zeus Bluetooth Alternator Regulator for the best performance, especially when charging lithium batteries. When using, keep an eye on the RPMs. The alternator starts working at 1,920 Alternator RPM and has different output levels at various RPMs. As for maintenance, check the cooling fans regularly to ensure they're working properly. The heat-shedding coatings and the rectifier on the housing exterior help keep the alternator cool, but it's still a good idea to make sure there's no blockage around them. Also, don't exceed the maximum continuous operating temperature of 100°C / 212°F. If you notice any unusual noises or performance issues, stop using it and check for problems. And always follow the safety guidelines to avoid damaging the unit and other components in your system.
